More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children the world over learn to speak their native language with ease. He began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the “mother-tongue approach”. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, learning with other children etc., are some of the special features of the Suzuki approach.

The Calderone School of Music Suzuki Strings Plus Program includes additional music learning in a curriculum that will properly educate the little string player and lead them into private instruction when they are ready.

Young string players will take part in a weekly group playing class, all taken with a parent. Classes will be limited to 10 for the optimal learning situation. Students will learn the basics of music and playing the violin correctly, have fun learning with other children and learn much more about music and reading music at Calderone School of Music as they progress through the levels. Classes are once a week on a variety of days and times. Private lessons are arranged.
